Don't Ask

My mom had a roll of 35mm film that she recently had developed. The thing about film that you don't get with digital is the ability to see the picture right after you've taken it, so you can never be entirely sure of what's going to show up, and occasionally you'll end up with a surprise or two when the film has been developed. Such was the case with this roll, which produced these two gems:

That's all for now. Hope you got a good laugh out of it.

A Day in the Sun

It was warm here Monday, something like 76 degrees, so Ame and my mom took the opportunity to get Addie out of the house and let her run around in the yard a little while I was at work. I assume that you believe me, but I offer pictures as proof nonetheless:

There are two boxes of plain white envelopes in the office next to the computer, and Addie, being the curious little gal that she is, likes to play with them. Well a couple of days ago she apparently decided to really explore one of the boxes. I think you could say that she explored it all over the floor.

After my last post, I thought of a couple other words that she's developing. She has a set of blocks with all sorts of things painted on them, including a few blocks with chickens and at least one with a cow, as well as a farm toy set with a chicken and a cow. My mom taught Addie all about chickens, and I've been working with her on cows. So:

"cu cu" = "cluck cluck" = "chicken" -- It's a pretty safe bet that whenever one of us pulls out the little plastic chicken, Addie will look at it and say "cu cu."

"moo" or "mmm" and "ca" = "cow" -- Addie will sometimes repeat after me when I show her the block with the cow and say "The cow says mmooooooo." Sometimes she enunciates and says "moo," but sometimes it's only "mmm." I don't think that "mmm" is a lack of enunciation so much as a testament to her appreciation of beef, but I could be wrong.

Again, I'm sure there are more words, but I'm forgetting them at the moment. There are also two more pictures that I need to put up, but they're not digital so they'll have to be scanned in. If you enjoy laughter, I suggest you check back in a couple of days to see these pictures. It'll be worth it. Until then...
